Quinta de Vargellas olive oil received a Diploma di Gran Menzione in the 6th International Olive Oil Competition (Armonia Alma Trophy).   The awards ceremony was held yesterday in the Palazzo Ducale di Colorno in Parma, Italy.

The Diploma was awarded in the category ‘Olive oils with the best analytical and nutritional composition’.

The 3,000 olive trees at Quinta de Vargellas are carefully preserved and tended.  Mainly of the Madural, Cordovil and Verdeal varieties, they make an important contribution to the biodiversity of the estate.  Selected olives from these trees are cold pressed to produce an outstanding extra virgin olive oil, noted for its low acidity and fine complex aroma.
