There’s nothing that goes better with your roast Turkey at Thanksgiving or Christmas than homemade cranberry sauce with Port and this simple to make recipe gives an edge to your cranberry sauce that will have your friends and family begging for more!
You can make this recipe in about 20 minutes, and it will keep for about a month in the refrigerator.
500g (3 cups) of Fresh/Frozen Cranberries
100g (3/4 cup)Light Brown Sugar
250ml (1 cup) of Ruby Port (Fine Ruby or Select Reserve)
Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan and gently heat to simmering temperature. Try not to boil the cranberry sauce to help maintain the fabulous flavour of the cranberries and the Port wine. Simmer over a low heat for about 15 minutes, or until your sauce has reduced to the right consistency. Leave to cool before storing in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
